Ziryab is located in one of the little side streets near to Santa Maria del Mar church, in the vibrant Born neighbourhood.
Ziryab has among the most interesting and tasty tapas in Barcelona, all made fresh and in-house, using quality ingredients and blending more traditional local tapas with Middle Eastern flavours to create interesting, spicy and flavoursome dishes. Its pan con tomato comes with olive oil, Lebanese pitta with thyme and other dishes like grilled halloumi cheese and jamon serrano , the fine local cured ham, or Arabian medjoul dates wrapped in bacon leave the customer salivating for more!
The idea is to have a selection of the different tapas-mezze, as Ziryab calls them, cover your table with the sights and colours of these dishes, and share the wonderful flavours between your group. Tapas in Barcelona comes aplenty, but tapas in Barcelona coupled with ambience, recommendation and a unique flavoursome menu is less readily found.
The atmosphere is always nice in Ziryab, with a light background musical playlist that includes jazz numbers, bossa nova, swing…. and Ziryab also holds a number of events, where the atmosphere is great and people are meet-worthy.
Check out the wine tasting sessions, and their excellent selection of Catalan and Arabian wines. Or chill out with a hookah pipe and pot of mint tea. You’re sure to have a unique and fun evening here… and with Ziryab’s sociable and homely feeling you may even leave with a few more friends than you came in with!
