Tibidabo is the highest mountain of the Sierra de Collserola that overlooks Barcelona. This is an impressive natural ecosystem with a huge forest of about 10 million trees, which offers amazing views of the city and the surrounding coastline. With 25 attractions and covering 7 hectares, Tibidabo is great for children and adults. You’ll find the amusement park, the Torre de Collserola and the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor church.
A “vintage” means of transport
This classic tram, known as Tramvia Blau, is considered a really ecological way to get there. It dates from 1901 and it allows you to take a journey into the past while enjoying amazing views of the city. It will take you to the funicular access station that goes to the top of the mountain.
The amusement park
Tibidabo amusement park is 100 years old and one of the oldest in the world. Built in 1889, some of the attractions date back to its inauguration. Take a walk in the outdoors up here on the Collserola Mountain where you can check the best view of Barcelona and the Mediterranean Sea. Discover the original Barcelona and its history, the different areas of the park, and get ready to be moved in all directions by attractions for all ages such as La Talaia, La Mina de Oro, Muntanya Russa, Kruger Hotel and L’Huracá.
The recently opened panoramic big wheel, Giradabo, is located at the very summit of the mountain, and lets us ascend to the clouds and see a 360º panorama of the city and countryside.
Prices of the unlimited access pass: 28,50€ for adults ; 10,30€ for children ; free for children under 90 cm ; 10€ for + 60 years old.
Sky Walk and other attractions
Sky Walk offers the best views of Barcelona. There are other attractions such as the Museu d’Autòmats where there are more than 40 pieces from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is real find and included on the official list of Barcelona’s museums. There is also a large room full of mirrors with impressive visual effects, called the Miramiralls, which won the prestigious FAD design award.
The Edifici Cel building is located on Tibidabo’s Sky Walk. This is where you can see the documentary called “100 years fly by”. The documentary lasts 10 minutes and tells the fascinating story of Tibidabo’s historical link with Barcelona over the last century.
Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor
The Sagrat Cor Church, built by Enric Sagnier, is located on the summit of Tibidabo Mountain. It took more than 60 years to build, and by night its illuminated shape shines down on Barcelona. Take your time admiring the works of art inside.
Places to eat
You’ll find several cafés and restaurants with traditional menus. The best Spanish cured ham is served at Enrique Tomás, whilst La Masia Restaurant offers authentic “tapas”, sandwiches and salads.
You can also savour authentic and delicious Spanish churros at the Xurreria located next to the Talaia ride.
