You may have already seen the views of Barcelona from Park Güell or Montjuïc, but if you’re looking for an even better view from a quiet, well maintained local park, then it’s time to discover the magic of Park Guinardó.
There are several entrances to this park. The main entrance is at the Plaça del Nen de la Rutlla, just a 3 minute walk from Guinardó metro station. Behind this square you’ll find a playground and a terraced ornamental garden with fountains. Two giant eucalyptus trees mark the end of the cultivated gardens, and from there you step into a pine forest zone which is scattered with cacti and wild undergrowth.
You can wander for hours while taking in the view of Barcelona from the northern end or sit on one of the many park benches and enjoy the often missed quietness of nature. If you continue the ascent up the mountain you will run into a small street correctly named Carrer del Panorama. From here you can look out over Barcelona. Keep going above the park, and you’ll reach the Rovira del Turo bunkers.
