Sala Montjuïc- Montjuïc
From July 1st to August 5th, the fortifications of Montjuïc are transformed into an outdoor entertainment venue, previewing world class movies amidst the backdrop of the enchanting Barcelona skyline. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, this outdoor cinema brings an excellent selection of film genres to the famous castle. Movies begin at 10pm, following a short movie or live concert beginning at 8.45. Bring a picnic or indulge in local specialties and beers offered by the food stalls scattered throughout the venue.

Cinema Lliure-Barceloneta
There are many ways to spend a summer night outside in Barcelona, but one option that is sure to please is enjoying a movie at the beach, and Cinema Lliure a la Platja is here to help. Located at Sant Sebastià beach close to Barceloneta, this open air cinema festival offers a variety of independent films from June-September. So for all you indie cinema lovers out there or anyone who wants to enjoy a night under the Barcelona stars, this is the place to be.

Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB)
Set in the courtyard between the museum’s buildings underneath the open Barcelona sky, the CCCB shows films of a different theme each year. This year’s program is Gandules-Gas Natural Fenosa, which includes films from all era, genres, and nationalities featuring ‘femme fatales.’ Dedicated to the rebellious and dangerous women in the world of cinema, these unique and non-mainstream films play throughout the month of August free of charge.
