La Boqueria is Spain´s oldest market and was also named the best market in the world by the World Market Congress in 2005. Rich in history dating back to the 1200s, the Boqueria market continues its tradition with third and fourth generation merchants selling a variety of produce that includes fresh fish, fruits and vegetables, wine, pastries and much more while adding new features that include a cooking school for kids in 2003.
Visiting the market is a wonderful thing to experience while in Barcelona whether you are shopping, eating or just simply walking around to capture the historic landmark with your camera.

At La Boqueria they sell awesome combinations of blended fruit drinks. Our tip is to walk past the stalls at the front of the market and head to the second and third rows of stalls. You’ll find the same drinks, except they’re quite a bit cheaper than the stalls at the front of the market.
Barcelona’s La Boqueria should perhaps come with a health warning because there’s so much to-die-for food & treats wherever you look! 😋 😂
