Christmas Celebrations at St George’s!
Yes, we agree, it is far too early for Barcelona to be hanging up their Christmas lights already. However, with only 6 weeks to go, there is no harm in popping some dates in the diary for your Catalonian Christmas calendar this year.
St George’s Church are wasting no time preparing the festive celebrations, and invite you to the following events they are organising in the run up to Christmas…
Christmas Card Sale
From 1st November through December, be sure not to miss out on the official St George’s Church magical Christmas cards. The cards have been designed by members of the community to support the Church, and are available for sale at St George’s.
Choral Evensong.
A peaceful celebration of music and faith. The Choral Evensong will be sung by the beautiful St George’s Singers this November.
Sunday 19th November at 19.00.

Little IF Improv Festival
The biggest international improv event of the year in Barcelona - this November 3rd and 4th
The Little IF is the 5th annual improv festival organised by Barcelona Improv Group, offering 8 shows over two nights, November 3rd and 4th. This year, the festival celebrates local talent with a collaboration of Barcelona teams performing improv comedy and theatre in Catalan, Spanish, and English. Local troupes Impro Acatomba, The Modestos, and Barcelona Improv Group will perform, as well as the critically acclaimed show “Ten Thousand Million Love Stories” from England.
In addition to amazing shows of unscripted comedy and theatre, we will have improv classes on offer for all experience levels. Classes will be taught by renowned improvisers Heather Urquhart (The Maydays, Showstoppers, Edinburgh Fringe) and Jules Munn (Director of London’s Nursery Theatre, The Maydays). Come and see original comedy shows, try a class, and enjoy the best of Barcelona’s theatrical talent.

Find out more »Hiroshima presents “Guintche” by dancer Marlene Monteiro Freitas
Marlene Monteiro Freitas, one of the most recognized artists of the moment in the contemporary scene, presents the solo piece "Guintche" which has made the international community sit up and take notice. In this solo, she communicates the essential elements of her reartistic language: a continuum of gestures in constant contraction and dilation, a new expressionism and an original approach to her scenes that suggests characters between the mythological and the fantastic.
There is something insane and irrepressible about Marlene Monteiro Freitas and her solo Guintche. the first challenge is that it lasts an hour. Once single hour where everything happens between the lower and upper body.

Ireland's own “Comedy Tsunami” ANDREW STANLEY storms into Barcelona on Friday 3rd November, for the next Guiriness Comedy show at Shamrock Bar.

Andrew Stanley is easily one of Ireland's top comics working the global circuit today. Aside from his regular TV writing and appearances (star of “I Dare Ya”, still Ireland's highest rated comedy show on TV), Stanley is known for his “astonishingly good observational material delivered and timed to perfection” (Scotsman), which always brings the house down in howls of laughter. Do not miss this!
Andrew Stanley is here for two performances: A monthly Friday night show in Shamrock Barcelona, then a Saturday night show in Wylie Brewery (Sitges). Both have excellent beers on tap, so head down for belly laughs in Barcelona or Sitges in stitches!

-Doors 20.30h. Show 21.30h. This is normally a full house event so please come early on the night for seats. Late-comers may be standing room only.
-There are a limited number of earlybird tickets online (10€). After that it’s pay-at-door (12€).
*Can’t make it to Friday’s Show? Then come down to the Sitges comedy show on Saturday 4th November. If you’re coming in from Barcelona, there’s a Monbus back from Sitges at 23.52h.
P.S. This is the only regular comedy show in Barcelona with quality comedy only and a straight hour set from a pro comedian. There are no open-mic or amateur slots prior to the set. The comedian goes on at 21.30h!

(B.I.G) Barcelona Improv Group is back! The international five man group are set to perform a sell out show at the Tinta Roja on Friday 17th November for an evening of hilarious comedy gold.
The 'Sugar' half of the evening opens the floor space to a series of upbeat music, dance, and theatre. Later on, the 'Spice' of the night offers naughtier humour.
The team are funny, kooky, heartfelt, unexpected, and above all, crazy . Each show is different from the last, so you won't be disappointed.

Bringing the Irish cheer to Barcelona this Christmas!
Looking for an early Christmas present this year? Or perhaps you’re missing those frosty British December mornings and looking for a bit of home from home. Labelled one of Ireland’s ’10 Most Wanted’ stand up comedians, Joe Rooney returns to Barcelona on Friday December 15th for an evening of lolling out loud at the Shamrock Bar.
His sell out debut show at the Shamrock in January 2016 had the audience on the floor with laughter, and his pre Christmas special show will no doubt be the same. Rooney brings with him a stocking full of comic Christmas cheer and his better known alter ego, the infamous Father Damo.
As a Christmas present to all, Joe will be performing not one but two shows in one weekend! If you’ve already promised a mulled wine to Aunt Mildred on Friday night, then head down to the Wylie Brewery for the Sitges show on Saturday 16th. There is even a bus back to Barcelona at the end of the evening!

It’s that time of the year again. Mince pies, mulled wine and awkward small talk with distant family members. Barcelona Improv Group captures the comedy and chaos of Christmas on December 16th for another evening of improvised brilliance, this time, with their own comedy ‘in laws’, The Modestos.
As always, BIG promises to start the evening off with a Christmas cracker bang. Their fast paced, short form improve comedic nature means anything is possible. The cherry on top of the Christmas pudding will be The Modestos first English performance of their signature form Eau D’Impro.
Don’t miss this Christmas mash up of two ridiculously talented improv groups at Tinta Roja. Never mind that 10€ you were planning to spend on a winter scarf for Aunty Becky, treat yourself to this instead!
