Spain´s history and roots make it an exciting place to be in during Easter. Celebrations all over Barcelona take place in different churches and people fill the city streets during the holy week.

Churches and religious brotherhoods organize processions around the country and in Barcelona there are two. One being the “Nuestra Senora de las Angustias” organized by the church of Sant Juame in C/ Ferran and the “Hermandad de la Macarena y la de Jesus del Gran Poder” from the church of Sant Agusti in Pl. de Sant Agusti 2, in the Raval área.

Along with the processions Bakeries sell tasty sweets, pastries and other goodies specially made for the holy week
