This spring, the Museo del Modernismo de Barcelona presents the temporary exhibition of the acclaimed Catalan artist, Ramon Casas, an artist who successfully portrayed the great social transformations and changes of the 20th century in Catalonia, leaving a huge footprint in the understanding of socio-historic and political life in contemporary Spain.
Coinciding with the 150th anniversary of his birth in 1866, the Museo del Modernismo pays tribute to the artist, sketcher, poster designer, portrait painter, and interpreter of modern life. Ramon’s training period, and his first trips to Paris constitute the initial sections of the exhibition, which are also focussed on social accounts, cycling, and motor racing, artistic and literary magazines, as well as various portraits of contemporary figures.
