Event Navigation
Known for her provocative work, Dana Michel from Montreal, Québec, turns under a sky without limits. A dance choreographer who has created her own body language through which she questions her identity and roots, Michel’s strange and idiosyncratic works infused with courage and wild imagination have conquered audiences worldwide. Sala Hiroshima snapped up the opportunity to offer this rising star her first performance in Barcelona, for one night only.
Dana Michel’s first solo show in 2013, Yellow Towel, was highly acclaimed by the New York Times. Mercurial George pushes experimental boundaries even further and continues to transform the banal, provoking a certain discomfort. Crossing mountains of debris that remain after deep marginalization and a mixed cultural heritage, Michel ventures into an unknown and often minimalist territory. This is a universe of childhood and connection with the sacred mysteries of life. Intuitive, free and rebellious, the performance offers a new perspective through intuitive movement and subtle choreography.
