Emergencia! Music Festival
13 February, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Event Navigation
Get ready for one of the most interesting and innovative festivals of the year: Emergencia! Located at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), Emergencia! features a wide variety of well-known as well as emerging artists that are sure to put on fantastic shows. On February 13, come see artists of all genres, including pop, rock, electronic, and experimental and experience the extreme beats and beautiful melodies of outstanding musicians Hölograma, Sorry Kate, Sara Fontán, BeatLove, Malheur, Des Âmes Libres, Ghost Transmission, Rod V, and Gentemayor.
Hölograma’s repertoire of pop/electronic music fuses with psychedelic elements to give you a low-key sound with a large bass projection. These catchy beats will have you grooving in no time.
Sorry Kate’s music is also a form of electronica, but instead of the groove-like melodies of Hölograma the artist uses various forms of clips from everyday sounds, bass lines, and quick repetitive melodies to create a type of atmosphere that is unique to the performer.
Sara Fontán is an amazing musician who makes use of piano, violin, as well as her looping pedal to create a one-woman band who produces stunning (and sometimes haunting) melodies.
BeatLove is an electronic duo who really take music into their own hands and form it into something new. The deep and haunting beats created by Benjamin, combined with the soul-capturing vocals from Myriam, create music that you don’t want to miss.
For those of you who don’t listen to electronic music as much, don’t fear! Perhaps the jazzy rhythms of Malheur are just the thing for you. The music group combines to create a sound that will have you on your feet and dancing along with everyone else.
Des Âmes Libres focuses much more on the harmonizing aspects of their electronic music, having several vocals included in their 80s sound.
One of the most well-known Spanish rock groups, Ghost Transmission, graces Emergencia! with their presence this year. Presenting not only their debut LP Apparitions but also their second album Ausiliatrice, this is a can’t-miss experience.
Rod V is a Guatemalan DJ who, along with some of his many remixes, will be performing his original house/electronic music for the partying crowds of Barcelona. Enjoy the clubbing atmosphere of his pump-up beats and his unique ambient sounds.
Gentemayor, a rock band consisting of 6 members (including 2 drummers), will blow you away with their intense instrumental capabilities. The group centers around the pounding beats of the drums combined with the underlying bass and powerful guitar, causing every fan to enjoy their songs.
