Els Veïns de Dalt is a comedy that reflects on married life and sexuality through two couples who live in the same building. Director Cesc Gay’s fresh and dynamic text features themes of cohabitation, courage, sex, love and appearance, served up with irony and humour.

The story begins one night when Anna (Agate Rock) and Juli (Peter Arquillué) invite their neighbours Glory (Nora Navas) and Salva (Jordi Rico) for dinner to show them the flat, and to thank them for their help when they moved in. As they chat away, Anna and Juli start to find out about the sexual antics of their neighbours, which leads them to rethink their own relationship, which is relatively monotonous.

This work is dedicated to Cesc Gay’s upstairs neighbours, who would make strange noises at any time of the day or night, always followed by a variety of moans and gasps. This experience provided the inspiration for his first play.
