El Més Petit de Tots returns with a bang this year to celebrate the 11th edition of the festival. It is a unique event specifically designed for the niche market of children aged 0-5 years old where they can soak up its intensely alive, vibrant atmosphere. Showcasing a spectacular array of contemporary performances, parents are not only there as companions to their children but can equally enjoy the music, theatre, dance shows and experiences. As with every year, its strong international presence will be felt with talent arriving from France, Germany, Belgium and Portugal.
The opening days of Barcelona´s festival primarily features the events ´Meva Teva´ and ¿Cuál es mi nombre… ? ‘Meva Teva’ is almost exclusively designed for children aged between 4 months and 2 years old and introduces them to the experience of movement. It is an artistic and practical show that allows them to interact and dance with professional dancer, Xiu Xiu. As part of encouraging the children to admire and engage with movement, light and music ‘¿Cuál es mi nombre… ?’ is a dance show where they can explore the intriguing world of shapes and let their imagination run wild.
Other events that take place during the festival are ‘Little Night’, an interactive experience where the children act out a story in a night time setting with fictitious characters. ‘Dans les plis de mes rêves’ provides the children with a surreal voice and movement experience where they can watch in awe as Mathilde Lechat cries, shouts, stutters, vibrates…whilst being accompanied by Indian instruments and percussion. Lastly, Wanikan introduces the children to something a little more obscure, a silent experience of absurd humour where two characters interact with everyday objects to tell a story.
