Fresh from their UK tour in Bristol, Reading and London, post-rock/free-jazz group Blood Quartet from Barcelona are due to play live on July 8 at local music venue El Pumarejo (Gràcia district). The band will be playing tracks from their current album, Deep Red, as well as some new brand new material. Blood Quartet includes Mark Cunningham, pioneer of the 70s New York no-wave scene, and the members of Murnau b., a local alt-rock band. According to Mondo Sonoro (Spain’s leading music publication), “Blood Quartet’s music sounds like chaos, like that succession of stumbles and outcomes that life generates.. and above all it sounds like freedom”..
