Parc Castell de l’Oreneta is one of the most fun and interesting parks in Barcelona. It is built on the slope of a hill in Sarria and overlooks Barcelona; on a clear day you’ll have a breathtaking view of the sea. This park can best be described as a family park, perfect for a picnics and full of different things to do for the little ones.
Half way up the hill there is a pony ranch that stretches for about a mile. You’ll find ponies and instructors who will help your children learn the basics of riding. Right at the top of the hill, past the playground with the swings and seesaws, you’ll come to a railway crossing. A miniature steam engine operates on these tracks and is usually packed with handfuls of overjoyed kids screaming and shouting as they venture into the wilderness hidden beyond the trees and bushes. In total there are more than twenty different trains inspired by their bigger brothers. The assortment consists of electric, diesel and of course steam operated trains.
