A Wamba Buluba Rock n’ Roll Club is a well-established name on the local music scene, having become an essential platform over the last few years for the launch of emerging groups and talents, and over the last year in particular becoming one of the most respected and reliable Thursday nights offering live-music in central Barcelona.
A Wamba Buluba continues to be a well-known name in the local live- music circuit, combining international sounds with rhythm n’ blues. The main idea is to continue opening its doors to an eclectic mix of international bands, offering touring artists the opportunity to perform in the heart of Barcelona, and to include other cultural shows that can energise and diversify the spirit of the club.
The resident DJ, Turista Bang Bang, plays every Thursday alongside guest Djs and artists. In an interview with him, he spoke about the night and Marula itself, describing A Wamba Buluba as a Rock n’ Roll Club, dedicated to live-music, concerts and Dj sessions, playing the very best of blues music from the 50s and 60s.
Aiming to please a wide crowd, but still wanting to maintain its key focus, the night concentrates on blues, soul, funk and rock n’ roll. Speaking about the night itself, and how long he has been running it, this March celebrates the 3rd anniversary. Every Thursday night Marula opens its doors to the public, attracting both tourists and locals alike. Given the location of the club, Turista affirms that a lot of his customers are tourists. He doesn’t have a special strategy to promote the night, wanting fans willing to return after hearing good music and experiencing good vibes at his night, priding himself on the good work done over the years to promote the night.
