Constellations, a new play by Nick Payne and directed by Sophie Heydel, is the new play being put on by the well known Jocular Theatre from 10th to the 20th of November at the Almeria Teatre. This theatre company is one of the most well known English language outfits in Barcelona, with a track record of many high-quality productions. With a new show every six months, the theatre has had a lot of exciting performances on many different topics. They are looking forward to bringing this funny and romantic show to life!
The play is an unusual tale that mixes the worlds of love and physics into an exciting and sophisticated story. The play follows Marianne, a theoretical physicist, and Roland, a bee-keeper through their lives. It explores the idea that one choice or meeting can lead your life in many different ways and how those lives might have turned out.
Payne explores the question of “what if” in a person’s life. It shows the way human randomness not only exists in the lives of Marianne and Roland but in each and everyone who sees the play. It will have you questioning, does any of it matter or maybe it’s all about just living in the moment? Regardless, Constellations will have you full heartedly exploring one relationship and the infinite possibilities it can have.
