The International Dub Gathering is the latest festival to hit the Catalan Capital and it´s sure to make an impression. There are 3 days of the best in Sound System music and culture from March 25th-27th, with reggae artists from all over the world coming to visit.
Some of the artist on the lineup include Aba Shanti, Channel one Sound System, Charlie P, General Levy, Iration Steppas, Mad Professor, Mungos Hifi, Panda Dyub, Raggattack and many, many more.
Put together by The Dub Academy The festival will be hosted at the Illa Fantasia Waterpark and one of the stages is set around a swimming pool so don’t forget to bring swimwear! In total there will be 4 stages, some with only a small capacity but also the main stage where the big acts will be playing can hold up to 2,700.
The International Dub Gathering has also made space for your kids to enjoy the festival. The “Sound Kids” area will host lots of activities that the whole family can enjoy. Including juggling workshops, puppets, handmade toys and circus attractions. Furthermore, The Mad Professor will be hosting reggae and dub music on the Saturday 26th of March in the Sound Kids area, playing traditional songs in a Jamaican version.
Illa Fantasia is only 20km from Barcelona city centre. There are lots of options for travel to the festival, all relatively easy and cheap. It takes only 15 minutes to reach if you’re driving via car. You can also catch the train from Arc De Triumph or Catalunya which only takes 12 minutes. A free shuttle bus that will be running all day is provided to take you to the festival from the train station next to Illa Fantasia
