Opening Hours
Shops tend to be open from 9:00 or 10:00-14:00, and 17:00-20:00. Many shops in the centre and convenience stores throughout Barcelona stay open all day. Shops tend to close on Sundays, although most convenience stores and tourist souvenir shops stay open.
Tax Free Shopping
Non EU residents can claim VAT back for goods with a value greater than 90,16€. Ask for a tax free cheque with your purchases. You can only claim for items you are taking out of Spain. Cash in your tax free cheques at the Tourist Information Centre in Plaça Catalunya 17-S. You can also get you r cheques stamped by customs at Barcelona Airport then cashed at any Bureau de Change in the currency you wish.
Supermarkets
The main supermarkets are: Caprabo, Carrefour, Consum, Dia, Lidl, Mercadona and Sorli Discau.
Late night supermarkets
Many local convenience stores stay open until 23:00, and a few close later.
